Terms of Use

Last updated: February 2026

1. Agreement to terms

By using the website and services of Groom for Improvement ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use our site or book our services. We are operated by Fern Smith from Chinnor, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom.

2. Our services

We provide dog grooming and related services (e.g. bath, full groom, nail trim, flea treatment) as described on our website. Services are subject to availability and we reserve the right to decline or limit services where appropriate (e.g. for the safety of your dog or our staff).

3. Booking and payment

Appointments can be made via our website, which may direct you to our booking provider (e.g. Square). By booking, you confirm that the details you give are accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to make decisions for the dog. Payment terms (including any deposit or payment at appointment) will be communicated at the time of booking or at the appointment. Prices may vary based on breed, coat condition, and additional treatments; we will confirm the price before starting the groom where possible.

4. Cancellation and no-shows

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us as much notice as possible (we may ask for at least 24–48 hours where feasible). Repeated short-notice cancellations or no-shows may result in us requiring a deposit or declining future bookings. We may cancel an appointment in exceptional circumstances (e.g. illness, emergency); we will try to give you notice and offer an alternative where possible.

5. Your dog's health and safety

You confirm that your dog is up to date with vaccinations and flea treatment as required, and that you have disclosed any known health issues, allergies, or behavioural concerns that could affect the groom. We take care to groom in a calm, safe way but cannot be held responsible for conditions we are not made aware of. In the rare event of an incident (e.g. a nick), we will inform you and use appropriate first aid; we are insured and canine first aid trained.

6. Use of our website

You must use our website only for lawful purposes. You must not attempt to interfere with the site, introduce malware, or use it to collect others' data without consent. Content on the site (text, images, logos) is ours or used with permission; you may not copy or reuse it for commercial purposes without our written consent.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from your use of our site or services. Our total liability for any claim relating to our services or site is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant service (or, if no payment, to nothing). Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Privacy

Your use of the site and our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using the site and providing your data, you agree to the processing described there.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site or our services after changes means you accept the updated terms where permitted by law. For existing bookings, the terms in effect at the time of booking apply unless we agree otherwise.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. For questions: Groom for Improvement, Chinnor, Oxfordshire. Email: hello@groomforimprovement.co.uk. Phone: 01844 512345.
